X-girl x Shaniqwa Jarvis

The new collaboration capsule alongside critically acclaimed photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis will be available soon. The collection features a crew neck sweater and graphic T-shirt. The pieces shed light on Jarvis’ New York roots, which dates back to studying at Parsons in the late ’90s.

The capsule includes two of Jarvis’ favorite photographs, one is an autobiographical shot which she took while at Parsons. It reads, “Too May Rich People In New York.” The other image features an image of a young girl, similar to the shot on the cover of the photographer’s self-entitled photography book

In an official statement, Jarvis speaks about collaborating with X-Girl:

I’ve always liked that X-Girl was started by strong women, and has consistently offered an alternative to a male-dominated street culture. I met the team earlier this year, and they asked me to create the collaboration with imagery that represents X-Girl. Wall writing is even more true today, and ties to my interpretation of X-girl as an OG New York brand. There’s a deliberate worn, almost vintage aesthetic.”

Again, this collaboration capsule will be available soon at X-girl.com. Stay tuned here as details emerge.
