X-girl × Evangelion

Japanese anime television series Neon Genesis Evangelion was first broadcasted in 1995. 

The series takes place fifteen years after there was a global catastrophe, particularly in the futuristic city of Tokyo-3 and the South Pole. The story is centered around a young boy who learns how to pilot “Evangelion,” a cyborg whose mission is to protect the universe by fighting back those who were responsible for causing the disastrous cataclysm. One of the most influential manga anime television series of all time, many say it provokes debate in all of pop culture.

OG Streetwear brand X-Girl teams up with Neon Genesis Evangelion on a collection to be launched in May on X-girl.com.

This capsule features multiple styles of tee’s and button-up shirts that incorporate imagery and themes from the show itself. X-girl design team utilized graphics of characters and monumental moments from the series, complemented by historical brand logos and custom lettering. Neon Genesis Evangelion falls into the genre of mecha anime due to the fact that it is based on robots in battle, the button-up shirt features captured shots from one of the final battles between Evangelion and the angels.
